Noting Alaska\u2019s unique challenges with geography, transportation and emergency services resources, the bill\u2019s sponsor Rep. Genevieve Mina, D-Anchorage, said the goal of the legislation is to streamline responses to intervene in what\u2019s known as the \u201cgolden hour\u201d \u2014 the 60 minutes following a traumatic injury or medical event \u2014 particularly for strokes and heart attacks. <\/span><\/p>\n
