Dunleavy approves standardized disaster evacuation terms and boost to legal aid"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p><span>Alaska\u2019s governor enacted two bills this week, giving final approval to a bill that sets <\/span><span>a uniform disaster evacuation scale<\/span><span> for the state and another that <\/span><span>raises the amount of annual funding for the Alaska Legal Services Corp.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/movingtoalaskausa.com\/?p=182\">Alaska governor vetoes bill that sought to adjust state\u2019s transportation planning<\/a><\/p>\n<p><span>Gov. Mike Dunleavy signed <\/span><span>Senate Bill 192<\/span><span>, the evacuation system bill, on Wednesday, and he allowed <\/span><span>House Bill 48<\/span><span>, the civil legal services fund bill, to become law without his signature on Thursday.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>SB 192, from Sen. Jesse Bjorkman, R-Nikiski, mandates that officials use a standardized three-level designation when communicating when Alaskans should leave the area of a disaster.
